This simple childhood memory dish is one of my favorite meals on earth! I find pasta to be something so special, without needing to try much. This pasta marinara is how we cook pasta in Isreal. More specifically, my grandma, and my mom. Nothing complicated. Simple pantry ingredients we have on hand at all times. Which makes it to be one of the most popular and convenient weeknight meals that kids absolutely ENJOY! While the pasta is cooking, the sauce comes together really fast and easy, and if you make a bigger batch, you can freeze it for next time and whip up a meal in minutes. It is kind of weird to say so much about this Homemade Pasta Marinara, but once you make this sauce at your house, You'll Never Buy Pasta Sauce Again!I'm sure that once you make this dish your kids will ask you for more and more. And it is also amazing on the healthier pasta kinds, such as whole wheat, whole grain, and the Gluten-Free brands. I hope you gonna give it a try!

1). Bring water to a boil, add 1 tbsp salt, and cook pasta according to package instructions. (Save one cup of cooking liquid for the sauce)
2). While the pasta is cooking, heat up oil in a wide skillet, chop and sauté the onions for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
3). Add the spices and mix for 30 seconds. Add the tomato paste and mix for about a minute so that the spices and the tomato paste get a chance to open with the heat.
4). Add the tomato sauce, and sugar, and mix very well. Add 1 cup of the pasta water and lower the flame to medium-low, and simmer for about 3-5 minutes. Check for salt and pepper according to your liking.
5). Drain the pasta, place back in the pot, transfer the sauce immediately on top of the pasta, and mix until all the pasta is well coated. Serve immediately!
Note: Feel free to add more water to the sauce if needed
