This is a very easy and delicious recipe. You can always get the store bought bottled teriyaki which is great, but I like to put a few twists on a simple plain teriyaki sauce and get a richer texture with a really moist fish. You may serve it with any starch such as rice, noodles or mashed potatoes. This time I chose sauteed zucchini and carrots in garlic since I was looking for something lighter for the evening.
Preheat your oven on 400F on Bake.
1). Put all the sauce ingredients in a small food processor except the salt, pepper and sesame. Mix until very smooth.
2). Drizzle some oil on a baking sheet lined in parchment paper and place the salmon portions.
3). Pour the sauce on top of each one, add salt, ground black pepper and sprinkle sesame seeds. Put a timer for 10-12 minutes and bake.
Note: After 3-4 minutes of baking I like to open the oven for few seconds to avoid potential smoke. If you feel like the oven is too hot reduce the heat to 350 and continue baking. If you like more color or crust on the fish change to Broil for 1-2 minute. Don’t leave the kitchen. Stay and check. It’s a matter of seconds! If the sauce caramelizes add a splash of water, cover the fish with aluminum foil and continue baking. If you like your fish well-done bake for another 3-5 minutes.
