Golden Milk from Oat Milk- A Magical Life Changing Recipe for You and Your Kids!

If you know the benefits of oats you'll want to add it to your life on daily basis. This oat milk is so easy, cheap, affordable, tasty and the texture is just incredible especially for the use of golden and chocolate milk. Unlike other nut kinds of milk, oat milk does not require presoaking of the oats. That means that you can have a healthy milk within minutes without going to the store.  When my twin boys were 1-year old I would make almond milk twice a week and give them twice a day. But in comparison, Oat milk is much milder in flavor and the texture is way richer! It also makes amazing milk for nursing mamas!

Now let's talk about Golden milk for a second. This is a healing drink that cures inflammation in the body.  Due to the curcumin which is found in turmeric, golden milk is a powerful anti-inflammatory remedy that cleans the liver, improves general health, cures arthritis,  skin disorders, fights cancer, and so much more!!! Usually, this drink is consumed warm or hot. But I like it room temperature or cold right out of my fridge.  Don't forget to shake well before drinking. I give it to my kids and they love the delicate sweetness. I just couldn't be happier. Especially when the flu is around or just to boost their immune system! (Oat milk changes texture once hot, so check how you like it)

Instructions

1). In a saucepan add 2-4 tsp turmeric along with a few tbsp water. Cook on very low heat, stirring occasionally until you get a wet but firm consistency. That should take about 5-7 minutes. If the turmeric is too dry keep adding drops of water until wet. (keeps in the fridge up to 5 days)

2). For the Golden Milk: Place 7 1/2 cup water in a blender, add 2 cups of oats and blend for 2 minutes. Transfer to cheesecloth or any good clean cloth and place in a wide bowl. Transfer the oat milk to the cloth that's in the bowl, close the top by twisting in a circular motion. Squeeze the milk with your 2 hands until you are left only with the pulp. Rinse your blender with water, put back the milk from the bowl and add 1-2 tsp cooked turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, and sweetener of your choice.  Blend very well and adjust flavors by either adding more turmeric, ginger or sweetener. Keep in a GLASS jar in the fridge and shake well before serving. If the ginger is too grainy for you either strain it with a small strainer or just blend it at the first stage with the water and oats. ENJOY!

3). For the Chocolate Milk:

Place in a blender:

  • Milk from 2 cups of oats
  • 1-2 tsp cocoa powder
  • 1-2 tsp cinnamon
  • Sweetener of your choice. I use date syrup
  • 1-2 Tbsp nutritional yeasts (optional)
  • 1 tsp whole tahini paste (For a Halavah flavor and extra boost of calcium)

Mix everything well and adjust flavors. keep in the fridge, shake well before serving. Enjoy!
